IHETC
The Institute
An institution born from one conviction: academic excellence must be available wherever talent is.
IHETC
What to know before choosing us
Four pages, one of which most institutions would rather not write.
IHETC
Our vision
To make IHETC the benchmark for high-standard digital training in West Africa: an institution where a student in Kankan, Labé or Nzérékoré gets exactly the same standards, content and support as a student at a leading international school. We are not adapting excellence to an African context — we are making it available without compromise.
IHETC
Our mission
To train a generation of professionals able to design, drive and lead the continent's digital and economic transformation. That requires three things: curricula built from real employer needs, teaching that adapts to each learner, and skills recognition that companies can verify.
IHETC
Our values
Excellence
No compromise on standards. An IHETC qualification is worth what its holder can actually do, and nothing else.
Accessibility
Distance, cost and daily commitments should never be what stops a plan to study.
Innovation
We teach technology by using it: our teaching is built on applied artificial intelligence.
Integrity
Honest assessment, verifiable results, commitments kept. Trust is built on transparency.
African roots
Our case studies, data and projects start from the continent's economic realities, not someone else's.
Employability
A successful programme is measured on one thing only: what it changes in the student's professional life.
Message from the Director General
West Africa does not lack talent. It lacks the infrastructure to reveal it at scale. For decades, reaching high-level training meant leaving your city, sometimes your country, and being able to afford it. Thousands of vocations stopped there.
IHETC was born from a refusal to accept that. We built an institution where the quality of teaching no longer depends on geography. Our programmes are demanding, our assessments are serious, and what our learners can do is checked against their output rather than against a title.
Artificial intelligence is not a marketing line for us: it is the tool that lets us give every student individual support that even the best schools struggle to fund. An assistant available at all hours, a path that adjusts to your actual level, and assessment that pinpoints exactly what needs more work.
If you have a project, we have the structure to carry it. Welcome to IHETC.

Our teaching approach
Mastery-based learning: you move on because the skill is acquired and proven, not because the calendar says so.
- 01
Entry diagnosis
Every student starts with a placement assessment. The platform identifies real strengths and gaps, and builds a path from there — not from an average theoretical syllabus.
- 02
Active learning
Fewer lectures, more practice: African case studies, simulations, projects on real data, and exercises generated from your previous mistakes.
- 03
Continuous support
An AI teaching assistant available at all hours to unblock a concept, backed by human follow-up from faculty and a cohort supervisor.
- 04
Evidence-based assessment
Continuous assessment, proctored exams and a final professional project. Validated skills are recorded in a digital portfolio employers can verify.
IHETC
Governance
The bodies that decide on programmes, assessment and academic life.
Executive management
It drives the institute's strategy, commits to partnerships and answers to the board for academic quality.
Academic board
It approves programme structures, assessment methods and examination panels. It meets at least twice per academic year.
Employer committee
Made up of representatives from companies across the sub-region, it reviews each year how well programmes match the job market.
Disciplinary and appeals board
It handles breaches of academic integrity and student appeals, with both sides heard.
IHETC
Recognition and accreditation
The institute's official recognitions are published here as soon as they are actually granted. To find out where current applications stand, contact the admissions office.
IHETC
Our commitment to Africa's digital transformation
The continent's digital transformation will not be won by importing solutions, but by Africa's own capacity to design, build and govern its systems. That calls for engineers, data scientists and cybersecurity experts — and equally for managers and entrepreneurs able to steer those transitions.
IHETC makes three concrete commitments: keeping tuition compatible with local incomes, teaching in French with access to English-language resources, and building our programmes with regional employers rather than for them.
- Tuition designed for local economic realities, with instalment payment
- A platform optimised for low-bandwidth connections and mobile use
- Curricula reviewed each year with a panel of regional employers
- Job-search support open to all, with no placement promise whatsoever
